André Pienaar, a lawyer and expert on cyber law, founded C5 in 2014. C5 is a specialist technology investment group focused on cybersecurity, cloud computing and big data analytics with offices in Washington, London, Luxembourg and Bahrain.

Andre began his career at Kroll Inc., where he soon became the company’s youngest managing director, before the company was successfully sold to Marsh Mclennan in 2004. That year, André and his former Kroll colleague Hugh Petre launched the cybersecurity consulting firm G3, which was sold in 2011.

André has many passions which is reflected in the vast array of organisations that he is a part of. As well as the many charities he works with, André sits on the board of directors for Omada, Haven Group, ITC Security and PeaceTech Lab.

André has also had the honour of being involved in the creation of the Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre which is based in the UK. He advised Gerald Grosvenor, the 6th Duke of Westminster who generously donated a large lump sum towards the medical rehabilitation facility.

In more recent years, André has become a member of the United States Institute of Peace and the International Advisory Council. He is also a member of The White House Historical Association, a Director of the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children and a trustee of the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation.
